I was born and raised in Walkerville and Butte, and Butte is truly my hometown. I began my career in Caims in July 1989 and opened my agency on June 1, 1996. My wife, Janice, and I have been married since May 1987. We have two daughters, Jenna and Mariah, whose memory continues to inspire my work through the Mariah Daye McCarthy Scholarship Foundation, doing business as Mariah's Challenge. To date, the foundation has provided more than $518,000 in post-secondary scholarships supporting technical, trade, and college education for young people who live lives of simple self-respect.

I am the founder of Mariah's Challenge, a past CNN Top Ten Hero of 2012, and the author of One October Night: A Memoir. I am also a member of the Butte Chamber of Commerce, the Montana Tech Athletic Association, EMETAD, and a proud Montana Tech booster. I hold the RICP, ChFC, CLU, CASL, LTCP, and LUTCF designations, am licensed throughout Montana, and can assist customers in English while also practicing Irish Gaelic. When I'm away from the office, I enjoy walking outdoors and experiencing the scenic beauty that Montana has to offer.
